Bad blogger

Oops, I missed a May post.  Nuts.  Anyway, I haven't had much time for the tank lately, lots of feeding, topping up the auto-topoff tank and that's about it.  We were gone for a couple of weeks and had the tank sitter watch the tank with no problems whatsoever (yay!).  Everything is growing and for once the alkalinity is half decent (9.3dkH which is probably why everything is growing).

The cyano is holding steady, its not overbearing but not gone either. Either I am winning the war or its stopped to rethink its plan of attack. I've been using Zeozyme on it and it takes awhile but eventually has been knocking it back. I ran out though so hopefully the cyano doesn't get ahead of me before I can get some more.

Sadly, I lost the littlest maxima clam. Not surprising really, I have a terrible track record with the smaller clams. They do great, grow a little and then slowly decline. I could see the decline a couple of weeks ago as the mantle wasn't protruding as much as usual and then slowly it retracted. I couldn't quite tell if it was pinched mantle as it does have that look.  They kind of go poof in the night which is disappointing as I would have liked to take it in for some histology and see if it indeed had pinched mantle or was just in poor health.  The other clam is going gangbusters and is looking fabulous.  I'll have to post some photos.

I did a bit of re-organizing of the tank, moved a few things and sold some other pieces off. Some things were getting too big and others I just wasn't liking as much anymore. I was hoping to make a bit of room for various other things but as usual, not much room was made although I did manage to fit a few things that were on the bottom of the tank and moved them up onto the rock.

I'll try to get some photos up in the next few days, they're more fun than just words ;)
