So the green slimy disgustingness is gone. I did a half dose of maracyn, waited 24 hours and then did a 1/4 dose for another 24 hours just to make sure. After that I cranked up the carbon and did a 40 gallon waterchange. I have another one scheduled for tomorrow and hopefully after that I can turn the skimmer back on (the froth is amazing even just coming from the overflow into the sump!). Most of the yellow acros are a browny yellow and a few purply ones are just brown. Should be back to normal in a few weeks or so.
My LFS finally got a raccoon butterfly fish that I had been wanting to combat the majanos. Of course my Powder Blue Tang went after him pretty hard in the first little bit, its calmed down somewhat now (2 days later) and he's started to venture out from under the wavebox. I noticed that given that cramped space he's pretty much picked everything off the rock, including some ugly (but non-stinging) hydroid-like critters. Hopefully he goes for the majanos soon. He's pretty fast once he spots something so I'm thinking most of my hitchhiker featherdusters and such won't be long for this world. As long as he moves on to the majanos I'll be happy. I think he's still a bit stressed out to eat, the LFS said they were eating mysis but I haven't seen him go after any yet (its a bit of a zoo in there at feeding time anyways so once he's more confident I'm sure he'll get right in there). I sure am liking the look of him in my tank though, I wish more butterflies were reef safe and I still want a copperband pretty badly. *sigh*
