Tank move

Tank is moved!! Yay!

The move went really well except that my candy hogfish was missing for a number of days. I took half the tank apart to look for him and eventually found him dried up on the floor. He went over to the tank in a rock (couldn't get him out of it) and I guess halfway over he dropped out of the rock (why couldn't he have done that when I had the rock in the tank!!!). That was pretty upsetting to find.

The raccoon butterfly has been re-homed to a tank flourishing with aiptasia and majanos and various other delicacies to eat. He was just nipping at my acans and blastos too much and I really wanted my clams back.
The powder blue just wouldn't leave the lavender tang alone and was becoming aggressive. I'd like to add several more tangs to the tank and if this happens every time, well what a pain in the arse. So the PBT was re-homed as well. Unfortunately the lavender didn't fare well after the removal of the PBT, he was out and eating but hidden a good part of the time. I think the move really tipped the scales and he was hardly out at all and wouldn't eat. Just too stressed I guess. I found him dead a couple days ago. He was pretty small and thin to start with, he was starting to fatten up but not quick enough for my liking.

As you can see in the last photo, the clams are back. The spotted maxima died at the LFS (maximas are so touchy!!) but the teardrop and two croceas are now joined by a new blue maxima.

All the frags are mounted (I'm down to a single frag rack of various broken bits and tiny frags)! I'm really excited to see what kind of growth and colors I'll get. The ushio bulbs are way brighter with the HQI ballasts, its pretty impressive actually. So far I'm not supplementing with actinics, I just haven't gotten around to ordering the 6' bulbs and was thinking I might even go LED. Someone in town builds custom lengths so I was thinking I might go that route for the dawn/dusk effect. The ushios are a nice crisp white and don't really need supplementation so I might just run the LED before and after the MH are on, then again it might be awesome and I'll run them the whole time. Gotta amass more funds for that though.
