My chiller has been "on its way out" for some time, making the most horrible squawking noise and blowing fuses. I had no idea what was wrong with it and thought it may have very well been the end for it. Turns out the evil dustbunnies had taken hold and were wreaking their havoc on it. I ended up taking it apart and getting the fan out to clean and oil it (kind of neat seeing all the insides and such). I even got the vaccum out to suck out all the dust and crap that was in there. I have no idea if that was why it was blowing fuses but at least the fan doesn't sound like someone is killing a goose anymore :P

As for the tank, well its plodding along. I'm quite surprised at how well various zoanthids are doing as I didn't seem to have much success in this tank previously with them. I now have a few different colonies popping up. Of course none of them are all that spectacular but its nice to have a variety I suppose. Likely I won't be saying that when they take over. They're already outcompeting a bunch of hydroid looking things on the left hand side of the tank. I'm thinking that part might be a good thing though ;)

I've been using Zeovit LPS amino acids for about 2 weeks now. Some of my acans/blastos just weren't doing all that well. I think using it has certainly helped. Plus I've been feeding heavily of a new product called Rods Food. Its just a mix of various seafoods chopped up. A lot of it is either really fine or really large (theres some huge shrimp chunks in there) and its not really all that fantastic for larger fish IMO, but great for feeding smaller fish and the corals and LPS thats for sure.

Definitely time for a waterchange today as I missed it the last 2 weekends (oops!) and next weekend I'm off to RedDeer to pick up a new tank!! I got a used 180 gallon with eurobracing and starphire front for a smokin deal, just couldn't resist. Unfortunately it will go into storage until we have a bigger house to put it in. No worries though, it will give me time to plan and amass all the equipment I'll need for it ;)
