Well I was getting better about posting more often on here but then.... ugh. Anyway, here I am. Not much new to report in the tank. We had company staying in the tank room for a few days and I turned off much of the equipment so they could actually sleep (I don't know how they didn't have to pee all the time though :P). Anyway, I had my ozone turned off for about 5 days and today decided I'm going to try Ultralith again. It will be interesting to see what it does, if anything. Granted the last time I tried it was hit or miss with the dosing. For the most part I did okay at the beginning but then petered out about 6 weeks in with a busy field season with work. Since I'll be home from now on I think I'll be able to stick with it.
I got a new camera which I don't think I mentioned the last time I posted. Its a Canon Rebel XT and I'm really excited about it. I'm not very good with it and take 3photos of the same thing to guarantee that one will be actually in focus or not blurry due to the shakes (and sometimes even that doesn't work) but I like to think I'm getting better all the time. I've had it for a couple of weeks now and am already researching what exciting lense I can buy for it :p That is of course if I can stop buying things for the tank for 5 minutes.
Speaking of which ;) I got another new maxima clam on the left. The other one was doing so well I couldn't resist. Besides, about all I have room for are thoes tiny ones anyways. I also got a tiny frag of some sort of spindly type acropora. The name has eluded me at the moment but I've been looking for one for awhile and now I have it. Hopefully it does well. Heres another sort of crappy pic but they look much better from overhead which is how I got sucked into buying it :P
I'm not sure if this photo shows it at all (the other ones certainly didn't) but my tricolor acro has been having various issues with burned looking tips. Many of the tips are white and look like they are deteriorating. Sometimes I can see little mucousy bits on them like either myself or something has brushed up against them and brushed the tissue away. It never goes much farther than the tips and the coral just looks like crapola, it had also lost color over the past few months. However looking today I can see that its trying to regrow over the tips resulting in little purply bulbs on the ends of each branch. Hopefully its on the road to recovery!
