Well things are slowing down in the tank. I have a couple more pieces with some seriously slow tissue necrosis and I think they're sort of in suspended necrosis now, either that or they're going to take the next 2 years to shed tissue :P I'm hoping that the cooler tank temps have stopped it in its tracks and the tissue will regrow over various parts of about 3-4 corals that its affecting. Either that or I'll just frag the dead bits and see how it goes.

So I've decided to scrap the Ultralith program. I'm just not around the tank as much as I should be for dosing and my boyfriend is away on trips for work too often. I think the tank has only been dosed about 1/3-1/2 the time it should have been and really its no wonder the system isn't working. I've gone back to ozone and man, I must say, ozone really is the shizzle. Within a week corals are looking much better, coloring up nicely (probly because there is less crap in the water). And the water is insanely clear. I'm not sure whether I'll be giving Ultralith another try. I did say that I would when I took it offline, probably in October or something but we'll see.

So I've bought another calcium reactor. Its a Schuran Jetstream Pico and man is it ever tiny (hence the pico name). Its about 1/4 the size of my old reactor and suddenly I have room in my stand again for various other crap. I had to wedge the old reactor in there and it was a pretty tight fit. I'm still working on getting the new one dialed in. I'm not sure about this larger media, so far I'm not too impressed. You have to run a ton of CO2 to get the damned stuff to melt. At least I've managed to get my alk back up to about 8.3 or so. Calcium is still at 375 which I guess isn't too shabby.
