Yay, the XM bulbs arrived. I was pretty excited about these bulbs, since I've heard rave reviews about them. Installed them and man what nice color, a bit more blue than the ushios and super bright. However, the next weekend when I looked one had gone the most unattractive shade of yellow. Not quite as bad as the Iwasakis (nothing is as bad as those...now :P) but pretty gross nonetheless. Guess they're not big on quality control. Anyway, I took them off and put the ushios back on. I guess I can do various adjustments with them. Something about the "nipple" being up or down or something. I swear some guy just made that up :P
Got a few more frags, no pics as they aren't actually in my tank as of yet, they're sitting on the floor beside me waiting to go home :P One thing about being closer to the fish stores with my new job. I have ready access to some super sweet frags. I have no idea where I'm putting them as I keep telling myself I have no room yet I still walk out of the store with a bag full :P
So this weekend is the big tank move. I'm moving residence a block down the road and saved a whole weekend for moving the tank, or should I say tanks. A 90g reef, 5g nano reef and 15g freshwater. Should be interesting, its been awhile since I've moved the tank. I'm old hat at tearing the tank down after all those issues with the dinoflagellates and the sandbeds but actually moving the tank and stand...well thats another thing. Should be interesting to see whats behind the tank as well. Various flashlight adventures looking for "missing fish" have turned up an unreachable firefish which is now definitely fish jerky. Now he can have a proper burial.
