Ah, nothing like a meeting of the reef nerds to get recharged and back into reefing. I had a great weekend last weekend, had too much fun and spent too much money. Lots of new stuff for the tank, livestock and drygoods. I've added a few new corals: a montipora, a couple of acros (this one and this one), a nice pink pocillipora, a yellow scroll, oh another purply acro that looks a bit on the pale side, (I'm thinkin its a Walt Smith) and hmm, I know there is one more. Oh! How could I forget my favorite?! A tricolor acro!
Hmm, what else did I buy? It was quite the weekend you know ;) Oh I got a new fish: a midas blenny. She certainly isn't one for posing for the camera. A bit shy still, she keeps to one corner of the tank. I call her a she because she has the most amazing eyelashes. Okay, okay so they're not eyelashes they're cirri, but still. Dang! And they're blue. I'll try to post a closeup later on if I can get her out of the corner.
And the crowning glory: NEW ZOOS!!!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I got some fantastic, and I mean FANTASTIC TEAL ZOOS. Oh how I love them so! THEN, I got some reddish ones and some greeny orange ones that aren't doing so hot but a couple of polyps are managing to hang on. I got a couple of other types but they haven't opened up yet and if they don't soon, I don't have much hope for them. They're quite cranky. I think they didn't like being in the bag for so long.
Oh freakin great. I just took some more pics of my tank and the stupid ^&*!($&*# dinoflagellates are back. I can see there are about 5 snails belly up on the sandbed already. Ah, my voracious army taken out by a bunch of microbes. How lame. Guess those crappier zoos aren't gonna make it. Lights out on the reef once again. I wish I could figure out what I'm doing wrong. *sigh*
