Ok well you know I just couldn't leave those ballasts sitting around for long. Mostly the difficulties weren't involved with the wiring (which my Dad set me straight on, thanks Dad!), it was getting them into the damned box. They each weigh about 5-7 lbs and well, you've gotta have one hand holding the ballast and then the other one to work with. By the time I was done my hands hurt so much I could barely screw the bulbs in. But I was determined! And hot damn! The tank looks absolutely incredible, which of course doesn't show up in the photo, even when you compare it to the last photo I posted. I can't believe the intensity of these Ushio bulbs, and the color. Cripes! Why didn't I do this earlier??

Anyways, I finally did get around to taking some decent photos of my new stuffs. I got this awesome blue ricordea with two mouths from a local store. I hope it grows as fast as my orange florida ricordia which split earlier this year, one of those guys already has two mouths again!!

I also got some nice Balis from Ocean Aquatics. I have no idea what they are but they have some neat shape and color. Theres this blue one, which doesn't show up so well in the photo. Then this yellowy one , which seems to have some crap algae on it, I'll have to get out the tweezers for that. And then this really cool table-type one, which has a lovely green hue to it as I was too lazy to scrape the glass which is growing a nice lime green colored algae.

I also got a new clam. I was a bit hesitant to try another crocea but thought I'd give it one more go. So far its happy as a clam :p Everything looks normal, actually, looking at the photo it sort of looks more like a maxima. I'll have to have another look at the shell.
