Well, I'm spent. Literally and figuratively. Nothing like a trip to the fish stores to fix you right into financial ruin :P Ok ok, I exaggerate, but it may very well be kraft dinner and Mr. Noodles for a month for me.
New reflectors!! Oh so very shiny and pretty. They reflect light pretty damned good too. I can't really tell if they are "better". I mean they certainly look better and I assume they reflect the light better but I suppose we shall see what they do to the tank.
I recently added a phosban reactor to the tank. I don't know if it was the cause of some of the loss in color of many corals or if it was something else. The tank seems to go into revolt mode every time I go away for a few days. Its really quite annoying. Hopefully whatever is causing the problem sorts itself out and things return to normal.
So I got a couple of red fromia stars and some corals from Ocean Aquatics. Just a couple that I really needed to have :P One is a bali "frag" with an acro crab in it. I just love those acro crabs. I also decided to try a few hermits. I have no idea what they are doing in my tank but as long as they aren't eating my snails, I don't really care.
I also got some new gobies. Two sharknose gobies, two trimma gobies that swim upside down (I haven't seen them out yet) and two gobies that I think are Yellowprow gobies. They look like sharknose gobies in color yet their body design is different. They're defnitely related. If they ever come out I'll get some pics on here. The gobies have been less than willing to come out and pose, most likely because the wrasse went after them all when I put them in the tank. I guess he figured they were food so I had to shut the lights off and hoped for the best. I found one mystery goby in the overflow today and put him in the refugium. Then later on I noticed the two sharknose gobies and about half an hour ago I found the other mystery goby. The trimma ones haven't been out yet. I don't have high hopes for them, they looked rather listless when I was acclimating them. Its really hard to tell though because they swim upside down so who knows whether they were just hanging out or croaking.
More pics soon I hope. My camera could use a good workout ;)
