Well I was over in the Big Smoke on the weekend and stopped by a couple fish stores, I managed to make it out of the first store without buying anything except for a small jar of chemi-pure (although I wanted a Tuxedo urchin but somehow got distracted chatting and totally forgot about it, poo!). But at the second store, well I probably could have brought several different fish home but settled on some Vanderbilt's Chromis. I don't have any photos yet because, dang these fish are fast, and skittish at first. Today they're both out in the open having a great old time. They constantlly seem to be taste testing floaties in the water so I think they must be heavy eaters. I'm not sure if they're eating the mysis I'm feeding or just putting it in their mouths and spitting it out. I watched them tonight and they seemed to be only eating every 10th or so thing they sampled. I wonder if they'd rather have flake? Hmm, I just tried some and same thing: in out in out. Cripes I hope the store wasn't feeding them brine shrimp or something!
Anyway, I originally bought 3 of them but one didn't survive the first night. Very odd. Thats the first fish I've had die on me in a very long time. I was pretty upset as I was looking forward to having my 3 little chromis hanging out together. Turns out the two remaining are pretty much loners and don't really hang out together much. There is a pretty good size difference between the two so at least I can tell them apart to keep track of them.
