I think I have the ca reactor problem licked. Well I hope so anyways. Usually the damned thing turns the gas off after about an hour or so but this time it stayed on! Yay! I have the bubble count at a ridiculous rate and the pressure is cranked up as well hopefully the alk doesn't go sky high. I turned the drip rate down to account for it but who knows. I've almost completely lost two frags so far, my tort is hanging in there and so is the other blue acro but I'm starting to get seriously pissed off now. That needle valve had better hang in there. Guess I'll find out in a few days.

In other news, I got a new clam!!! Whee!!! I've been looking for a teardrop maxima for sometime. All the maximas around here are so tiny, like 1-2" and I'm a bit leery of trying to keep one alive as feeding them copious amounts of phytoplankton really isn't feasible in my tank and I don't think the nano has enough light for a clam even short term.

A few pics of random corals:

lokani - its encrusting!!!!!!
trumpet coral
pink milli?
yellow milli?
brown lump with potential!

********************Nano Update*********************

So the nano has been reborn. Mostly I just powerwashed the rock and let it sit for awhile while I decided what to do with it. I wasn't really going to do anything for the longest time and it was amassing a huge pod population in there which was pretty cool to watch. But then I housed a leopard wrasse for a couple nights and that was the end of the pod situation. The leopard wrasse went on his way and the pods started to rebound (I think they were just in hiding). I added a few zoo frags (ok 7, I went a bit nuts) and some ricordeas. I didn't buy it all at once :P Then last week I found my little "showpiece" fishy. A geometric pygmy hawkfish, technically he's not a hawkfish at all but a member of the anthias family and also goes by the common name of high fin perchlet but type that into google and you don't really find much. He's pretty skittish and I didn't see him for quite awhile but he comes out to scope things out for a few seconds at a time.

Ok on to the pics:

Full tank shot
Overhead shot
Red "people eaters" and ricordea yumas
Blastomussa merletti
Orange clove polyps
pumpkin patch
zoo2
zoos
more zoos
cotton candy zoos

I can never get the names right so theres more here and here.
