The wavebox is here!!! Yay!! Although I must say, what a great lot of wires and whatnot. I guess thats technology for ya. Anyway, its much larger than anticipated and well, its a giant black box in my tank. What more can I say. I haven't been able to simulate the "big wave" that others have been, although I think its probably due to the fact that my tank is only 4 feet long. Nevertheless, it does put lots more current in my tank. I don't know how impressed the fish are with it though. They seem a bit more skittish than usual.
So I was doing some routine cleaning and such, there was a bit of splashing on the reflectors so I removed the bulbs. One of them had some hairline fractures in the glass so I decided that since I'm not hear to deal with possible UV problems from the glass breaking (who knows how long its been like that) I replaced the bulb with an old Iwasaki 6500K until I can get a new one. Whew, talk about pee yellow! This is what the tank looks like now. Pretty strange looking, all the corals on the iwasaki side look pretty greeny yellow. Poor things.
Anyway, before the bulb swap, I did take a few photos, I just forgot to post them. I must say, threatening your camera with buying a new one certainly works. these are some of the best photos I've gotten in a long time. Excuse any algae or bubbly crap. I've been having issues with some slimy brown stuff growing on the dead parts of some corals that were attacked by the crab a few months ago. They're winning the war slowly though :)
