Well that Dec 1 post seemed to get lost in the ether so you get two posts for the price of one!

Hmm, whats new....well the surviving bali I got finally has some polyps starting to come out. I never really thought of the bali aquacultured stuff as "delicate" but rather bulletproof as I've never had a problem with them (not that I have a ton). That echinata I had croaked so quickly though, started about 4 hrs after I put it in the tank. And this second one is being so pissy. Very frustrating. Its lost alot of its color as well and now looks like a lumpy poo stick. Yay expensive lumpy poo stick. Ugh. :P

Oh yes, I never did share my zoo pics with you. My camera has been rather pissy lately and its like one shot out of every 50 seems to be half decent. Alot of not focusing and going out of focus when I click the shutter. I guess these things weren't designed to last forever :(

So new zoos, I got all of them from Ocean Aquatics and they're colors I haven't seen around before (or I would have them already, duh :P). I hardly ever see zoos in any of the stores in fact so I kind of went a little wild with the purchasing. I got these neat greeny ones that have sort of bluish centers that my camera can't pick up, this frag also has some bonus beigy brown ones (ok not bonus but at least I don't already have them :P), some rusty colored oneswhich also have a few of the greeny ones, some pink centered brown ones (just cuz they're purty) and some blue green ones that don't show either the blue or green in the photo.

Oh and now for a change of pace, I'll go into my rant about how much I hate ROWAphos.

No offense to you ROWAphos lovers out there, while I'm sure its a fantastic product for you, it has been killing my corals and I think it sucks rocks. I tried it a few months ago with no luck. I lost about 4 frags that RTNed from the bottom up overnight. So I did some reading and wasn't going to use it ever again except for a friend that kept harping on and on about the bloody stuff, so I thought I'd give it another try. I rinsed the living crap out of it and started with a stupidly low flow in my phosban reactor. Next thing I know one of my prized Ontario frags is starting to bleach from the bottom. I turned off the reactor but didn't realize that a whole branch on the backside of the frag had already started. Stupid me thought by turning off the reactor everything would even itself out, it did the last time. Anyway, I came home to most of it gone today, a little part was left and I fragged it to see if maybe I could save it. The guy I got it from said it was a pretty sensitive coral so no doubt it will be gone by tomorrow morning. Waaah!!!!

I did feel a bit better when I flushed the ROWAphos down the toilet. We won't talk about the price of the stuff though :P
