Well the tank looks fantastic if I do say so myself. Fantastic enough that I finally replaced the picture up top ;) I think this may very well be the best it has looked in I would say at least the past year and a half. I'd just like to say thanks to my friend Jack for suggesting that I powerwash the rock and Gerald for lending me his kick a$$ powerwasher (all hail the Coleman 2000psi Briggs and Stratton Powerwasher!! ;) ).

Get comfortable, this is gonna be a long one. I haven't been this happy about my tank in I dunno when and I'm gonna get wordy and camera happy ;)

I almost forgot what those 4 base pieces looked like under all that caulerpa, so many hidden nooks and crannies bunged up with caulerpa. Now they are all visible and my blennies are making use of every single one ;) Speakin of blennies my lawnmower posed for the camera, what a cutie! I still can't get the regal tang, Nori, to pose for a pic, she is busy having fun with the scopas tang and they have become fast friends.

During my photoshoot I noticed that the midas blenny wasn't the only one attacked by the hawkfish. Bug, my bangaii cardinal got nailed as well. Not much of his pectoral fins left here, poor thing. He is eating and seems okay so I'm hoping he will rebound. He is such a docile fish, I really wish I hadn't bothered with the hawkfish at all (which has now gone back to the LFS) and need to really investigate further fish purchases.

Well all my corals did really well. Everyone seems happy. A few corals got burned when my montipora got too close in the holding tank but I was careful to keep an eye on them so nobody ended up with any major damage. My christmas tree/porites got a bit burned but it will recover in no time. I also noticed that I can't see any red bugs on one of my acro frags that had quite the little herd on it before. I can even see nubbins of new growth on it!

Gratuitous zoo pics :P

Oh and I got a new frag. Its pretty chocolatey brown right now. I'm interested in seeing what it will do as it came from a system with dual 175W metal halides. I love watching and seeing waht SPS are going do. Its like a big surprise. Well sometimes they just stay browny beige and then it isn't much of a surprise but still cool when they grow :P

Ok I'll stop yapping now. I just thought I'd share a few more pics.

Thanks guys,

I have a Nikon Coolpix 880. Great for macros. There should be a macro setting on the Canon if I'm not mistaken. I don't use a macro lens, they're too $$$.

Oh and the water effect wasn't written by me, I found it on the net. It is brilliant though. The guy that developed it has done some amazing stuff!
