Not much new to add in the past few days. All of the rock is covered in a snotty brown goo. A new algae to add to the list, I haven't seen this one before. Also there are a fair amount of bubbles hanging out on the rock on the left side of the tank, none on the right though. I'm thinking microbubbles... yeah yeah, okay, I'm hoping its microbubbles and not, well, you know. I guess I'll have to figure out a way to control them somehow. Hmm, I'm just looking at it, and well the hope continues but I think its not going to hold out. I guess I'm looking at drastic measures soon. Waaah!

Try adding a refugium to your sump; looks like you might have space in there to get some algae growing. It will help remove the nutrients from your system and slow the growth of nuiscance algae in your display.
I did contemplate adding a refugium in the sump. I'm not quite sure that I would have room though unless I just crammed some macro into one of the baffles and put a light on it. The rubbermaid that holds the topup water was originally going to be a refugium but I decided it would serve better as an auto topoff instead of adding water directly to the sump.
Its definitely something I need to be thinking about though. Thanks for the suggestion! :)
Oh geez, I just checked and that sump pic is pretty old. I'll get a new one up there so you can see what I'm talking about.
