Well (hopefully) the answer to some of my algae woes arrived today, in the form of an Euroreef ES6-2 skimmer!! Ooh its pretty. So easy to set up for the technically incapacitated like myself. Within 15 mins of plugging it in it was already sucking all sorts of gack out. Woohoo!
Hmm what else. I'm so happy my euroreef is here. I'm totally geeking out about it. Which I don't do very often as people think I'm weird then :P I've already taken like 50 pictures of it doing its thing (and yes they are all pretty much the same picture). I was taking some other pictures last night. I got an awesome shot of Q, my colored urchin. My acro frag I got from my friend Rich is doing fantastically as well as the birdsnest I got from him. My lawnmower blenny even managed to sit still for a picture. he really blends in with his surroundings.
On a sad note, I can't seem to find my lined blenny or redheaded goby :( I have a sinking feeling that my large emerald crab, The Hulk, has been snacking. I did'n't think he would eat them as he certainly has of them nipping small fish but he is so dang large I wouldn't put it past him. I guess he will be finding a new home in the future if I get any more small fish. He certainly has plenty of food to eat as a herbivore. But I guess when you're eating slimy algae all day, a small fish is mighty tempting. Stupid crab!!
